Native forest logging should have stopped from the start of 2024..which unfortunately doesn’t include private lands or the widening of boundary & track fire brakes.. nor have they stopped damaging retarded “fuel reduction burns”.. that do nothing more than fire scar the forest & kill old growth..

it's a trust tree listed on the national register www.trusttrees.org.au/tree/VIC/Tanjil_Bren/Big_Tree_Road, I use this website quite often to see not just huge trees but any special tree, special in their own ways, that's worth a visit, going to Tanjil Bren now is at a pause because of the landslip, a few more weeks until road is fixed hopefully.

@@vustarama I have been wondering about the accessibility of Chinamans rd as I have heard about the "Crystal Pits" up that way. I know what getting eaten alive by the leeches is like. It seems there are either tiger snakes or leeches to contend with, most of the time both. I also know what it is like to get horribly lost too. It is interesting that building is still there, not too old by the looks (30 years possibly), there are some great places up there worth exploring. Dave.

@@Bomber-hd7mu I have no idea about any crystal pits but get to Saxtons Rd just keep going along it STRAIGHT onto Chinaman's Rd, IGNORE gps telling you to turn, all unsealed roads. I don't have a 4WD so stop on Chinaman's Rd when you reach a large open space with piles of gravel. Yeah a tiger made me jumped once, and i think a copperhead did too. Do you have any more info on that building? used by loggers I assume. I also spoke to an oldtimer and he said he walked to the 'tree' along Big Tree Rd like 40 yrs ago...LOL no wonder I can't find the trail anymore .Vu.

@Bomber-hd7mu I searched trusttrees.org but that GPS was inaccurate as I found out. Then the universe arranged for an expert to help me go to the right spot (I was very nearly there!)

alive and breathing...no I don't do 3ds Max anymore also I don't do Houdini anymore because of a medical condition. I am a keen horticulturist now, just interest in trees, plants and nature. Anyway, is there something I could help you with ?

hey Marty, Thanks for your thoughts , update: thought i was in the clear after 2nd surgery last Dec...nope...got DAILY radiation from Feb to Apr! So was on 'enforced' leave from work so i kept going to the St. Kilda Botanical Gardens and hassled the gardeners there for a job. You guessed it, I am now working as a gardener at the St. Kilda Bot Gardens and local surrounds...PERSISTENCE pays off! Tryna grow back hair on one side of head due to radiation but other than that not much to complain about. Stay strong, ride out the tough times, good times will come, good health to ya, cheers

​@@vustarama Hey my cat- and naturefriend, I really want to dito your last sentence! Hair will grow back again, well, at least if you do not share the same genes for a bald head with me. Somehow, I really have an idea of how persistent you have to be to get a job because the employer has given up arguing :D Keep it up like this! Be sure, that faraway in a foreign country, there is someone who thinks about you and is sending you "positive spiritual energy" time and time again. Well, my ex girlfriend was a bit esoteric... ;)

@@martingulpen1608 thx Martin, so i had Pre-Admission today, the nurse checked me out with the 12 lead EKG, basically half a dozen electrodes had to be placed on my chest around the heart, hope she had a good perve at my 6 pack, merry Xmas everyone, i myself may be on the op table by then. Cheers.
